One of the bags was for things to wear that my friend Helen had made for me and one was with all things to do and the chest was for treasure and although I really wanted to get and have a look in there I was good and opened one of my things to wear first and it was this brilliant cowboy waistcoat and Mister Carrot was jealous :¬)</p> <p><img src="http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/ee221/onekelpie/DSC01380.jpg" alt="fringey waistcoat" title="cowboy waistcoat"></p> <p>You can tell it is for cowboys because it has got all fringes on it. So after that I had to open one of my things to do and it was some DVDs to watch and they was ones I have seen before but I do like them anyway and now I can watch them again whenever I want and they are called Sinbad And The Legend Of The Seven Seas which is like a pirate film and The Road To ElDorado which is all about a city full of gold.</p> <p><img src="http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/ee221/onekelpie/DSC01384.jpg" alt="videos" title="videos"></p> <p>Anyway I think that was enough being good and so now it was time for treasure :¬D</p> <p>I got a new bunny that is real gold on it!</p> <p><img src="http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/ee221/onekelpie/DSC01392.jpg" alt="the golden bunny" title="the golden bunny"></p> <p>and also a Star Trek badge from my friend Nick who made it out of silver and it has got something called gold leaf on which is also real gold apparently and he made it for me himself and I do quite like it even though Star Trek is finished on the telly now and they are just repeats</p> <p><img src="http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/ee221/onekelpie/DSC01391.jpg" alt="star trek" title="star trek"></p> <p>There was some more clothes to be opened and they was <em>more</em> excellent waistcoats which was a leathery one that is good for pirating in and then next there was this one which is a special one for being smart in and is a businessman waistcoat for bankers like on Deal Or No Deal except it has got a "B" on the back in sparkly stones so it can also be for if I am listening to rap music too because it goes very well with gold as you can see :¬).</p> <p><img src="http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/ee221/onekelpie/DSC01417.jpg" alt="bankerBun" title="bankerBun"></p> <p>My friend Helen had made me something to give Mister Carrot because it is sort of his birthday too and you can see that it was a bow-tie and I have not got one of those myself but I might get one for Bunmas maybe. I think he was pleased because he did wear it all day long! Anyway the last one was my favourite and is all colourful on the front and with little flowers on the back but it goes inside out too so I can have the flowers on the front if I want which is called reversible</p> <p><img src="http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/ee221/onekelpie/DSC01400.jpg" alt="favourite one" title="favourite one"></p> <p>I really like this one the best although they are all very good because it is like when cowboys dress up in their best clothes or it could be for a magician or when I wear my top hat or almost anything really so it is for all sorts.</p> <p>I finished opening my other presents and there was some more DVDs and some of them I have not seen called Tarzan and Hercules and Mulan and one I did see at the pictures called Bolt and we watched that already because it is good.</p> <p><img src="http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/ee221/onekelpie/DSC01402.jpg" alt="more" title="more"></p> <p>I do have a lot of trouble with sticky tape and unwrapping but it is well worth it!</p> <p>I had one more bit if treasure and it was a special necklace with all different things on it which was a star and a horsey and a cowboy hat and a horseshoe which is for luck and a cactus which is a sort of plant from the desert where some cowboys might have been if they was lost. Last time my friend Helen said to me that birthdays is allowed to go on all month if there is a problem so we might have to do that and spread it out but I do not think it is as good though.</p> <p>All of my friend Helen's caterpillers have gone to sleep now and we are waiting for them to finish being pupae which sounds like they are little dogs but it is what they are called apparently and not like the butterflies which was called a chrysalis. She has been visiting her friend Jacqui who is my friend too in a place that is called Bristol because Jacqui's mummy is not well at all and is in hospital so she is very sad at the moment. I am glad that my friend Helen will be back soon I have been missing her very much but she says that she has been seeing rabbits everywhere while she has been there and that it is probably my way of keeping a Bun-eye on her - well I am not going to say anything about that and whether it is true or not because that is my secret! I decided to wear my leather waistcoat which is normally for cowboys but is also for hunting fossils and also I put on my necklace that is made of teeth and is for prehistoric stuff but I did not wear a hat in case it got blowed away on the river....</p> <p>...<em>yes</em>, for an extra treat and because my friend Helen said it would be easier to get there we went on the train half way and then we went down to where there was a big river which is called The Thames and we were going to go on a boat the rest of the way. Now although I am very keen on pirates I do not like the idea of water very much and so I was a bit worried but anyway I was looking forward to it and I was very excited too but we was a bit early when we got to the wharf which I thought was a bloke from Star Trek but it turns out that it is what it is called where a boat does stop as well so anyway because we was early we had a walk along and looked at all the people who was painted silver and doing standing still as well as some bands playing music and dancers and other things which I really liked although my friend Helen said it reminded her of Hamsterdam from The Wire which we have been watching on the telly.</p> <p>So then it got time to go on the boat at last and my friend Nick held onto me very tight so there was no danger of me falling in the water and I was grateful for that and I held onto Mister Carrot very tight too so he was not in danger. Here is some pictures from the trip first from where we started which is next to the London Eye that is like a big slow wheel thing</p> <p><img src="http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/ee221/onekelpie/06082009124.jpg" alt="eye" title="eye"></p> <p>then we went under a bridge where the trains go over</p> <p><img src="http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/ee221/onekelpie/06082009125.jpg" alt="bridge" title="bridge"></p> <p>We was very lucky because it was lovely and sunny and perfect weather for a boat trip and it was not going up and down too much but of course I am a very good sailor anyway and did not mind the rocking about. </p> <p><img src="http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/ee221/onekelpie/06082009411.jpg" alt="lovely day" title="lovely day"></p> <p>There was lots to see as we went along with all the buildings and things and also birds that like to sit on the water and other boats going past and then later on we went near where I visited before and is called The Tower Of London and we tried to take another picture but it was hid by trees but also there is this big battleship there as well which my friend Nick says is called "HMS Belfast" and HMS stands for "Her Majesty's Ship" which means it does belong to The Queen although I do not think that she uses it any more. When we got inside we went up some stairs with lots and lots of other people all going the same way and inside there was so many seats but we found our ones and me and Mister Carrot had a really good view</p> <p><img src="http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/ee221/onekelpie/06082009417.jpg" alt="me in the dome" title="me in the dome"></p> <p>but after this I have not got any pictures because they said we was going back millions of years to before cameras was invented and so they was not allowed although other people did look like they was doing pictures anyway. All of the lights go off and although there was lots of children talking and playing with silly lighty things it did not matter because it is so exciting when first of all just a man comes out and then some huge big dinosaurs come out next to him and run around and roar and everything! There was some rocks in the middle that moved around on their own and the man said that was called continental drift and then there was some plants that come up as well all by themselves and then the dinosaurs had some fights and some had armour and some had long long necks and other ones had horns and also there was a flying one and finally a great big one that was a Tyrannosaurus Rex and it was so great I was really really pleased we did come!</p> <p>My friend Nick has found some videos that someone else has done to show what it was like and it was <em>just like this</em> so I must warn you <u>do not watch it</u> if you do not want to see because you might go and see the show for yourself or it might spoil it but you can see that it was <em>BRILLIANT</em>! You can see how big the dinosaurs was because of how small the little man is next to it and these was not the best ones but that will keep the best bits for a surprise if you go and see them I reckon.</p> <p>After it was finished we went to where we got back on the boat to go home but by the time we did set off the nice sun had gone in and it was starting to rain. Luckily my friend Helen had brought her little umbrella with her for us to stay under but I was still a bit worried I might get some wet on me so my friend Helen found a special waterproof bag that she had brought with her as well and my friend Nick helped make it into a rain cape for me and it was so good that my friend Helen says she is going to make me a proper one just like it later on although I still prefer staying indoors when it is rainy :¬)</p> <p><img src="http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/ee221/onekelpie/06082009130.jpg" alt="rainproof bun!" title="rainproof bun!"></p> <p>So that was my day out and I had a lovely time and if you can go and see the dinosaurs I would say it is well worth it and also I think I will try to have another boat trip soon because that was so much fun as well!</p> <p> <small> <a href="http://bunnybunbunbun.blog.co.uk/2009/08/09/dino-day-6685652/#comments">Comments</a> </small> </p>tag:bunnybunbunbun.blog.co.uk,2009-08-09:/2009/08/09/good-news-6683616/bunnybunbunbun2009-08-09T09:53:45+02:002009-08-09T11:26:50+02:00 <p>Yes after all the miserableness the other day when we thought that the mothrapillers was dying it turned out they was not after all and it is very funny because my friend Nick and my friend Helen was so sure that two of them had died they put them in the bin and lucky for them there was not too much stuff on top because this morning my friend Nick looked at the others and found they was still alright so he rummaged in the bin again and found both the ones that was supposed to be dead was happy eating their leaves and they have changed their colours and things a bit is all! So what has been going on then?...because now I must try and remember all the different things...</p> <p>Hmm...first there was a bit of a problem with my carrots where there was some holes coming in the leaves and so because my friend Helen thought it was some sort of caterpillers she sprayed them with some oily stuff and unfortunately that was a mistake because they started to shrivel up and look awful. Some of them got better and they are ok but some did not and so my friend Helen planted some replacements and they are all coming up now so it should all be alright I think. Oh and the holes was baby slugs and so she has also put some pellet things in to get rid of them and Mister Carrot has done lots more sprinkling of his magic over them to help.</p> <p>My friend Helen has been out and done lots of her classes where she learns about jewellrey and stuff and she has been getting on very well indeed but now they have finished so she is looking for some more and also buying some tools which are called files and pliers and things. She was mostly excited because she got to melt down some silver and pour it into a mould that she made and she is now looking for more things to melt so I am keeping all my things well hid!</p> <p>The next thing that I have got to report is that my friend Helen's Mothra eggys came and they was all in a tube and very tiny </p> <p><img src="http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/ee221/onekelpie/25072009385.jpg" alt="eggys" title="eggys"></p> <p>but it did not take long before they was hatching out and the caterpillers have all got little aerials at the back which is very funny and it makes them look like they can pick up the radio :¬D</p> <p><img src="http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/ee221/onekelpie/25072009386.jpg" alt="caterpiller" title="caterpiller"></p> <p><img src="http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/ee221/onekelpie/25072009383.jpg" alt="on a leaf" title="on a leaf"></p> <p>My friend Helen thought she was getting just one though and now she has got ten which she is wondering what to do when they are all grown up because they are called 'Death's Head' and they are very big apparently so we might need a lot more boxes but she is having a lot of fun watching them and looking after them. She has been out and picked them some plants to eat and they are from next door's front garden but they seem to like it so we might need to get some from somewhere else or they will have to eat the lot when they are bigger and next door will not be very pleased.</p> <p>In the garden there was just one of the figs on our tree that was ripe and then it suddenly got a hole in it</p> <p><img src="http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/ee221/onekelpie/26072009391.jpg" alt="figgy" title="figgy"></p> <p>and we was wondering what was going on but it did not take very long to solve the mystery because the next time we looked there was a birdy burglar on the tree!</p> <p><img src="http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/ee221/onekelpie/26072009395.jpg" alt="birdy burglar" title="birdy burglar"></p> <p>My friend Nick says it is called a thrush and he did not mind it was stuffing its face with our one fig as long as it does not pinch them all when they go ripe.<br> Also while I am talking about our trees I should say that the peach tree which we did only get one on the last time and then the squirrels mucked it up is very happy this year and although it is very skinny still it has got <em>fifty two</em> peaches on it and they are very heavy and so we have propped up the branches with a broom thing that is tied onto a stick.</p> <p>It is only the middle of the year but the blackberries is all going ripe in the graveyard too and so the other day my friend Nick and my friend Helen went and picked some for making pies with which is great for them but it does make it feel a bit like it is autumn already which is a shame as we have not had much sun yet and that is why I have called this post "Is it summer yet" because we was watching the weather on the telly the other day and the man had a picture of England where we live and he waved at three places up at the top and in the middle and down at the bottom and then he said "we could have rain here, or here, or possibly here". I could have done that weather report! So she is also doing stuff for herself at home as practice and that means yesterday she was cutting out stuff with a little saw and today she has been doing lots of hammering with her little hammer and because it is very hot today and I have got the doors in my room open into the garden and she is working in the kitchen it is like it is happening right outside and it is making me a bit fed up but it would be alright if she was making something for me though and hopefully that will be next. </p> <p> <small> <a href="http://bunnybunbunbun.blog.co.uk/2009/06/30/hammer-time-6426328/#comments">Comments</a> </small> </p>tag:bunnybunbunbun.blog.co.uk,2009-06-29:/2009/06/29/new-catterpillers-bad-news-6418321/bunnybunbunbun2009-06-29T09:17:31+02:002009-06-29T09:18:53+02:00 <p>Oh dear. My friend Helen was so pleased with the last lot that she got some different ones and they was called Peacocks and they was much more interesting and lively than the other ones and we was enjoying watching them and waiting for them to do their change but something terrible has happened. They have got a nasty virus which is a disease like the bunflu only much worse and they look like they will all die. Now we do not know where they did get it from but we do not think it would have been on the stingy nettles because they come from the graveyard and that is not sprayed or nothing and is all organic so they might have had it when they arrived and it just took some time to happen. Anyway my friend Helen is very very sad about it even though it is not her fault and she was looking after them very well (and ignoring me a bit too much!) and now she is worried about when her big moth catterpiller comes because she was just getting allexcited about her new hobby.</p> <p>Some more happy news though is that some of my carrots have started to come up and my friend Helen says that we must "thin them out" which means throw some away which I do not much like the sound of but she says otherwise the ones that are left will not be able to grow properly. </p> <p> <small> <a href="http://bunnybunbunbun.blog.co.uk/2009/06/29/new-catterpillers-bad-news-6418321/#comments">Comments</a> </small> </p>tag:bunnybunbunbun.blog.co.uk,2009-06-25:/2009/06/25/catch-up-carrots-and-bye-bye-butterfly-6386577/bunnybunbunbun2009-06-25T10:47:06+02:002009-06-25T10:47:06+02:00 <p>It has been so nice lately that I have been even more slow than usual doing my blog and so this is all a few days ago now. First of all my friend Helen filled the new mighty carrot box with dirt and we planted them at last. </p> <p><img src="http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/ee221/onekelpie/20062009058.jpg" alt="planting and sticks" title="planting and sticks"></p> <p>There is not so much room but we put lots of different kinds in so there would be a choice and anyway some might be quicker to grow than the others so maybe they will last for longer and I had to do some sticks with names on so we did not forget which is which. They are Early Nantes which is supposed to be first and Sugarsnax which is a silly name but they are long and thin and extra sweet apparently then there was some Chantenay which are littler ones and some Sementi which are supposed to be giant size! Anyway they have not poked up their heads yet but I am hoping for something soon because the weather has been so nice and also I am making sure my friend Nick has been watering them because my friend Helen is away for a bit again at her health farn that she likes to go to.</p> <p>I think I have said before that my friend Helen has got a friend who is called Tamsin and she was having a look through her stuff and found some stickers that she had bought a long time ago when she was on a visit to Japan or it might have been Hong Kong I cannot remember now but anyway she said that I could have them and here is what they look like</p> <p><img src="http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/ee221/onekelpie/stickers.jpg" alt="stickers" title="stickers"></p> <p>so I will say thankyou very much for that which was kind and now I need to send some cards or something so I can stick them on and then people will know that they are from Bun!</p> <p>On tuesday when the weather was nice and sunny it was time to let all the butterflies go so we took the whole net housey thing out into the garden and then my friend Helen opened the top and used a clothes peg to keep it open. </p> <p><img src="http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/ee221/onekelpie/22062009368.jpg" alt="in the garden" title="in the garden"></p> <p>First of all they was all very excited but did not know what to do and then one of them went out and flew up in the air high as high and suddenly the rest got the idea from him and followed in a line up and up until there was just one left and that one was a bit reluctant as if it was saying "but wait I did not finish my orange yet!" still in the end it went too although it did not go high like the others and then they was all gone. A lot has happened with our butterflies and here is just the best bits.<br> All the week the caterpillers had been eating and eating and they was growing so fast until they was really really fat</p> <p><img src="http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/ee221/onekelpie/10062009021.jpg" alt="fatterpillers" title="fatterpillers"></p> <p>then last saturday when I tried to get my friend Nick to help me write about it before and he was too flipping lazy the caterpillers started to change and we nearly missed it but my friend Helen was obsessed and kept a close watch and it was just as well because we saw they all did a letter "J" first and hung upside down from the ceiling. Then their heads splitted open! We watched them and it was amazing because they wriggled about and their skin all got scrunched up at the top and they was turned into a chrysalis! They did not have any feet any more or eyes or heads or nothing and was just a browny shell thing and they also did poo out a little red blob too. They could still wriggle about though and eventually most of them looked like this and the skinny bit fell off completely</p> <p><img src="http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/ee221/onekelpie/13062009047.jpg" alt="chrysalis" title="chrysalis"></p> <p>Two of the caterpillers was a bit slower than the other three and one was making a right nuisance and kept bothering the first ones that had already started to turn and they all wriggled and thumped him and he was trying to hang off of them and have a ride I think and using two of them as a swing. But in the end he stopped and changed as well until eventually they all had all done it and calmed down for a rest and it was time for them to go in their next house which is like a meshy thing</p> <p><img src="http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/ee221/onekelpie/14062009051.jpg" alt="moving day" title="moving day"></p> <p>My friend Helen did get them out then and pinned them inside </p> <p><img src="http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/ee221/onekelpie/14062009053.jpg" alt="new home" title="new home"></p> <p>but not too high up because they still wriggle sometimes and they can fall off apparently and it was just as well because during the night one of them did!</p> <p>So this weekend we had started to think they was going to sleep forever and my friend Helen was starting to have nightmares about giant atomic moth things that was part owl and part robot and was hatching out and my friend Nick was shouting at her saying "quick get a photo for Bun's blog!" but anyway then this morning my friend Helen had a look and they was still in their shells but when my friend Nick got up for a wee he saw that one had already come out! We was very surprised but then my friend Helen watched carefully until another one started to come out and so we saw it happen from the start and it was so quick really but still it was very interesting to see. They split open at the head end again and along the back and then they wriggled out but it was a bit harder this time because now they had got some legs back and also wings of course which was all scrumpled and I thought they looked like me when I wake up and I have got bed ears and they was a bit wobbly too</p> <p><img src="http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/ee221/onekelpie/20062009054.jpg" alt="scrumpled" title="scrumpled"></p> <p>but they soon made their wings straight and stiff and their antennas too and then they have to spend some time making their tongues go from two bits to one bit and it can curl up as well. So now there is three out already and we think that the others will come out tomorrow and my friend Helen has put some sugar water stuff on a tissue in the cage thing with them and also she has gone out and bought them an orange to eat which they do like apparently. They are called Painted Ladies</p> <p><img src="http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/ee221/onekelpie/20062009365.jpg" alt="butterflies at last!" title="butterflies at last!"></p> <p>They have made the inside look a bit like CSI though because they have to squirt out some sort of stuff that is like blood and their are big blobs of it everywhere now. Hopefully tomorrow the weather will pick up a bit because once they are all out and done their stretching and stuff and exercised their wings it will be time to let them go into the garden and they can fly away and that will be the best part I think.</p> <p>In other news, my friend Helen has spent all yesterday fiddling with the carrot box that she got her brother to make because it was a bit too big for where it is going in the garden and my friend Nick was being rotten and would not help but she did it in the end and now we are ready to plant them at last! </p> <p> <small> <a href="http://bunnybunbunbun.blog.co.uk/2009/06/20/at-last-6349764/#comments">Comments</a> </small> </p>
