I bet you thought I had forgotten to do this and it would be like people are saying about the second Golden Compass film and part two was never going to happen after all which is a shame I reckon but actually I was just having a long time in bed watching telly this morning so I am doing my blog now :¬)
So when we got up on the next day my friend Helen said she wanted to visit a place on the coast which was a village and she said she had heard it was very nice so we all got our stuff back in little van and drove there. It was called Bosham and we found it quite quickly but when we arrived the weather was trying to decide if it wanted to be sunny or not and so I had a tricky time deciding if I needed my sunhat or my blanky and in the end I took blanky and it was just as well because it was quite chilly when the wind blowed and the sun went and hid for a bit. Now I do not mind just having a look round places because I am interested in a lot of different things but I do not know why we went there as I could not see what all the fuss was about especially as the sea had all dried up and there was not even any boats.

So we did not stay long in the end and we went off to another place that is called Chichester and is a big town with a thing that is called a cathedral. Inside was all high up and made of stone and I was quite impressed

so I asked my friend Nick what it was for and he said that there was a bloke named Jesus and when he died everyone made houses for him everywhere to remember him and I don't know why they waited until he was dead because he might have liked them more when he could have had a walk round. Also I think he might have liked it if they remembered to put in a telly but maybe he just wanted to read books or something instead and listen to music because there was a big thing called an organ up one end and a man kept making a loud noise with it which I thought was a bit rude but my friend Nick said he was tuning it which is when you test the notes and are getting ready to play something so I suppose it was alright. Here is the organ

Also there was a window with a painting on it that said "Saint Nicholas" and my friend Nick said it was of him but I think he was making it up because it did not look like him at all and he does not even own one hat.

I forgot to say that before we went in the cathedral we had stopped so my friend Helen could have some tea and cake which she likes to do alot more normally when she is out but my friend Nick gets the hump if she does it too much so when he is with us she does only have it now and again. Anyway my friend Nick had read in the paper that there was not going to be any petrol so he was a bit worried and so after the cathedral we had to find somewhere quickly to fill up little van and he looked at a map on his phone and found a petrol station but it turned out there was loads of petrol in it so he did not need to panic after all.
After that we went off to another place which is called Arundel and we went there to see one of my favourite things and that is a castle! This is where in The Olden Days some knights in shining armour and other people who was defending the countryside could stay and be safe. It is very big and you could see it from far away even when we had just parked and it was a long walk to the entrance

but as we got nearer it just kept getting bigger

and bigger

I was very impressed and it was all crinkly round the top too like a castle is meant to be. When we got inside though all the hallways are quite narrow and only as big as our hallway at home and my friend Nick says this is so it was hard for anyone to come in if they was not invited because they could not get past the swords and spears and things. It was a bit hard to take pictures in some of the places but this is where some fake people was pretending to shoot old fashioned guns out of the windows (I have not turned into a ghost it was just the flashy bit on the camera made that happen!)

and the lady is just loading it for the man because she is not allowed to do the shooting.
Next we went up and up and up round windy stairs and there was a very high bit which was oldest of all and that is called The Keep and we had a look over the edge of one of the crinkly bits where the people would have shot down from with arrows and I was not scared really even though it was a bit blowy and my friend Nick thought I was but Mister Carrot was worried though in case he fell over the edge so we did not stay long up there.

My friend Helen had said she was too scared to come up but by the time we got to the end she came and joined us because she did not want to miss out although she did go round very quickly and stayed back from the edge. There was also a little place called The Dungeon in the middle that was all dark and is where the prisoners would have stayed until they gave up and the people in the castle was the winners so I pretended to be a prisoner although I did stay outside the bars :¬)

After we went all round the high up bit we went back inside and had a look round all the rooms and they were very interesting but it was quite hard to take pictures because there was people guarding all the treasure and stuff and they did not like it. There was lots of weapons like swords and crossbows and suits of armour and oldy guns and things and some spears with axes on the end too. Then there was other rooms with all gold and silver stuff in and I did wonder how I could get some of it home with me but I was not allowed to get my paws on it! There was a place called a library as well which has got lots of books in it to read and also there was some very nice treasure chests and I liked the look of this one to keep all my money in.

Oh I nearly forgot again but before we went in there was a little shop and they had some brilliant stuff and I saw this helmet with a crown that was very very nearly the right size for me but I just could not squeeze into it and I was a bit disappointed

but in the end I found something just as good to buy with my own money and here it is

a brand new sword and a very nice one I reckon ( the picture was taken when I got home so that is why I am in bed) and it is solid metal and has got a goldy bit with a pattern on too which makes it even better!
After we had finished looking round the castle we went and had a quick look at the gardens but they was not very good (probably because the gardeners were busy eating all the fruit and stuff even though they pretended they was not!) and anyway it was getting late and we were all a bit tired from all the walking. Still on the way back out to little van we did see one more thing and I was very pleased

Yes! It was a rabbit and he was living in the castle! My friend Helen said it was a shame we did not bring any of my carrots to share with him but I said it was just as well because he is living in a castle after all so he can afford his own flipping carrots :¬)
So that was our trip away and I have had a fantastic time and it was well worth the long wait since the last one but I hope it is not so long until the next time.
I do have some other things to tell you about from when we got back but I will save them for tomorrow or something.
